Expansion of the 5th Elementary school of Kastoria                                   Architect:  Theodoros Kaskitsis
The project involves the construction of a building in expansion of the 5th Elementary school of Kastoria in the region Dailaki. The ground floor is a united space and forms the event hall of the elementary school, covering 180 sq. m. On the first floor above  the event hall two classrooms are configured.

Due to the architectural demands for total absence of hanging beams both in the interior and the perimeter of the building, the floors were formed by two big waffle slabs supported by inverted perimeter beams. The access to the classrooms on the first floor is obtained by an indoor stairway which is suspended as a cantilever from the main building.

Due to particularities of the structure, a complete model of shell finite elements was developed for its design.
